Communications Students Take Heart: Jobs in Social Media

August 5, 2009

There are positions to be found for students who wish to work in mass communication says CNN/CareerBuilder writer Rachel Zupek in her article Five jobs for Facebook addicts.  She advices budding social media applicants to look at a range of options when searching.  More so than just writing content job seekers need to gain skills in areas such as enterprise architecture, recruitment, and operations.

More companies are utilizing social networking efforts by Twittering, blogging and creating profiles on sites like Facebook and LinkedIn to gain exposure and increase customer service.

Finding these opportunities is easier than one might believe but aspirants must know how to find them.

Try searching job boards and the Internet for “social media,” “interactive marketing,” “new media” or “branding manager” and you should get a good start in the right direction.
